IELTS

 

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is one of the most common international exams in English for those planning to enter foreign universities or gain employment in English-speaking countries. The IELTS certificate is recognized in 125 countries, including across most of Europe, the UK, Australia, USA, Canada, and New Zealand. It is also accepted by employers, embassies, and immigration departments. The results of the international exam become known in two weeks. You can take the exam an unlimited number of times, but a minimum of 90 days must pass between two attempts. The results of the IELTS are valid for two years. The minimum language level required to pass is Intermediate.

 

There are two options for the international IELTS exam: Academic and General Training. Those who plan to enter an English-speaking university must attempt the Academic version.

KET

 

The Key English Test (KET) is the first international exam in the Cambridge exams series for general English. The exam confirms a basic knowledge of the English language (A2). This test assesses the basic English language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The KET consists of a written examination and a personal interview with a Cambridge ESOL examiner, both of which take place on different days. There are two forms of the international KET exam. There is a test for adults and one for schoolchildren. The main difference lies in the subjects of the tasks, which are adapted to the conditions of everyday life and age characteristics.

 

An international KET certificate confirms your knowledge at a basic level and is an excellent springboard to learn English in the future. It will also provide invaluable experience for preparing for and passing other international exams.

PET

​

The Preliminary English Test (PET) is the second step in assessing your progress in the Cambridge exam system after the basic international exam, KET. It is expected that at this level of language proficiency, you can communicate in spoken and written English in everyday situations at the Intermediate B1 level. There are two versions of the international PET exam: the adult test and the student test. The main difference lies in the subject of the tasks, which are adapted to the conditions of everyday life and age characteristics. The recommended age for schoolchildren is 11–16 years old, and the recommended age for adults is 15+.

 

Possession of an international PET certificate confirms your confident command of English in everyday life.

The First Certificate in English (FCE) is the most common and in-demand of the Cambridge exams. Passing the B2 First is a great opportunity to try your hand at an international exam and get an objective assessment of your knowledge on the eve of the final exams.

This exam is often taken by people applying for mid-level positions in foreign companies.

Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) is an international exam designed for candidates aged 17 and over who are fluent in English (level C1). Obtaining an international CAE certificate is a confirmation of your professional knowledge of the language and readiness to use it for work or higher education.
